Baby Monitor Reviews and Types
Posted by CWC on September 18th, 2007It has been over 20 years and 18 years since I had my son and daughter. The one item that allowed me to get some work done while they were taking a nap was a baby monitor. They have changed over the years, so let’s see how!
Video Baby Monitor Vs audio Baby Monitor Review
It can be difficult to select the best baby monitor with so many types on the market. There are:
- audio baby monitors
- video baby monitors
- heart rate baby monitors
- baby movement monitors
- dual room baby monitors to name a few
Audio baby monitors simply allow you to hear the sounds in your baby’s room. We all know that a quiet toddler is often a toddler up to mischief! Perhaps the nursery wall is being decorated with nappy contents – that old story! Worse still, your baby could be in danger, but unless you can see what is going on how will you know?
The advantage of video audio baby monitors is clear - you can see and hear your child up to 100m (328 feet) away. This means no more wondering and worrying “What was that sound?” and having to run and check on them.
A quick glance at the live color image display on your monitor’s LCD screen can help set your mind at ease. You can also ‘show off’ the baby to visitors while he or she is sleeping without having to disturb them.
Many video baby monitors allow you to connect to a TV or computer monitor for a big screen view. You may even connect it to the VCR and record your baby monitor video. Video baby monitors are also a great way to watch over young children when you’re not in the room. Better video baby monitors are in full colour and include a built in microphone for clear sound and vision of your baby at all times.
In the next post, we will discuss portability!
